In this 6-part course, you'll learn how to play solo saxophone in public, for long periods of time, while using movement to accentuate the music. Integrate these techniques into your own style, and learn how to come up with songs on the spot. This is the first and only course where Leo explains all of his techniques, and we are pleased to present this one-of-a-kind experience! It's a really fun way to practice fundamentals and get your mind working fast while leveling up your performance chops.
The Curriculum
1. Intro To Solo House Sax
In this lesson I take you through how Brasshouse evolved into Solo House Sax and what musical styles inspired and influenced me.
2. Rhythm & Scales
I'll teach you the core rhythm and scales that make up Solo House Sax and give you an exercise that you can use to practice different rhythmic variations so you can play in the groove.
3. Octave Jump Basslines
We will cover how to do octave jumps and I'll teach you multiple variations that will help you spice up your phrasing. I'll also show you how to add the provided exercises into your practice routine.
4. Passing Tones
Passing tones are a great tool to add to your improvisations, and I'll teach you multipe variations that you can add to your lines, and how to integrate them into your practice routine.
5. Big Jump Counterpoint
This is where I'll teach you real Solo House Sax superpower of how to play the bassline and the melody at the same time! We'll cover multiple variations, and the formula for how to make up your own Big Jump Counterpoint.
6. Sound Effects
In this video I reveal the secrets to my signature sound effects - The Leo P Gliss, The Raptor, Squealiez, and The Foghorn. This is the only place I teach these techniques!!!
